Ask anyone what their favorite time of the year is, and they would say one thing. It’s Christmas, of course! But how do you make your celebration extra special every year? Plan ahead and check out our list of what-you-must-do and bring out the best holiday experience for you and your loved ones!
A Different Take. Repetition is boring! Tick off anything you’ve tried and done on the previous years. It’s time to be more creative and think about better themes. Try something new and rave. A movie- inspired celebration, a party with a jungle touch or a vintage-meet-glam style, your concept will reflect the mood of your holiday, from your decorations to your menu. So, choose something you and your family would enjoy putting the act on!
Another Look. ‘Dress up’ your home to bring out your desired concept! Whatever that maybe, remember your decorations should include both your indoor and outdoor, following the rule that ‘Less is More”! Brighten up your house’ front yard with modest amount of white lights framing your tree branches or roofline. Put oversized red bows on top of rosemary bushes. Make it simple yet elegant! Inside your home, start the action with your Christmas tree. Since it’s the centerpiece, make it gigantic and dramatic! Choose appropriate, theme- suited color palette of one or two colors. Wrap it with some lights and add in minimalist decors such as ribbons, ties, and paper- made origami ornaments- placed in a coordinated manner.
Something for your door!
The Calling. Create your guest list. While your friends may have lots of Christmas parties to attend to, make them feel that yours is worth their time and energy. Let your invitation awaken their interest! Create something impressive without breaking your pocket – there are lots of ready to print designs online! Include the date, time and even the theme! Send them out as early as December’s first week and RSVP’s until the third week.
A Sweet invite!
Lights and Music. Spark up your home to create a welcoming impact to guests and a festive ambience for everyone. If you have a fireplace, why don’t you utilize it for a dramatic light and effect? Install table and floor lamps in conversation areas and candles and chandelier over the dining area to enhance the mood. To complete the scene of elegance, pure mellow and classical music aren’t really necessary. Make the evening both relaxing and lively with a mix of classic jazz and Jingle Bells and co.
These sparkling LED lights shall lead the way!
Courses and Menu. Decide what kind of dinner it will be. It could be a sit down dinner for a group of 6-8 people. If the seating capacity is a bit short, serve your heavy hors d’oeuvre buffet style! Caviar and all the trimmings will surely impress your guests, but you can stick to whatever you have. A great turkey dish or a fancy shrimp cocktail will be enough. Don’t forget; use your special silverware for this special dinner. For the drinks, install a separate station for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ice, glassware and cocktail napkins. This would be a great traffic flow controller!
Get a taste of Christmas- a lot!
Be A Santa. Before your guests leave, acknowledge everyone with a toast. Complete your thanks by giving them some favors! Good wine goes to good friends, so why don’t you give them a bottle of wine with a good message on it! Or you can have decorative treat bags for each of them, with candies, fortune cookies, and your holiday wish note inside them! Pine cone candles and Christmas tree ornaments are great party gifts too!
That’s Entertaining! Now there’s your favorite part- the games! Start it off by letting your guests guess the title of the song with this game of tunes! Afterwards, test their movie IQ with Christmas flick charades. Or why don’t you challenge their agility with a Wrap-the-box contest or a Decorate-That-Tree Match? Indeed, there‘s much more to do!
